Bohbot & Riles, LLP represented a man and a woman who worked for Woodfin Suites for 12 and 14 years, respectively with no performance issues. While the man was on a medical leave, a new supervisor arrived and instructed the women to terminate the man while he was on leave. She refused and reported the attempted termination up the chain of command. After her refusal, suddenly and for the first time she was written up. Within a short period of time, she was terminated. When the man returned from his medical leave, he was written up for events that happened while he was leave, given no real time to correct the issues and was terminated. Bohbot & Riles, LLP filed suit on their behalf and received a 1.2 million verdict from the jury, including lost wages, emotional distress and punitive damages.
